Aireen Maurisio appointed Library Support Specialist

University Libraries is pleased to announce the appointment of Aireen Maurisio to the position of Library Support Specialist, effective May 5, 2025.

As a member of the Libraries’ User Services department, Maurisio will work with colleagues and student employees to deliver an excellent in-person and online customer service experience in support of the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½community's information needs. She will assist Library visitors with directional, research, circulation and technology questions in-person, via chat and on the telephone and refer questions to the Libraries’ subject experts as appropriate. She will also be responsible for the opening of Alden Library during the academic term.

Maurisio will partner with departments and other Library colleagues to create and maintain the Libraries' suite of web-based instructional content including web pages, guides, FAQs and tutorials. She will also contribute to departmental work in assessing and enhancing the user experience of the Libraries' physical and virtual spaces and will work to continually improve the services and spaces for all users.

Maurisio has worked at Alden Library as a student employee for the past four years, first as a late-night student assistant, and later as a student-team leader and a multimedia peer tutor. As the late-night student team leader, she was responsible for providing help services, ensuring safe study spaces, leading student employee peers and closing the building. 

As a multimedia peer mentor, she supported students with their creative media projects by helping them effectively use the Libraries' multimedia computers and applications. With her prior experiences, Maurisio brings a wealth of knowledge that will allow her to make an immediate impact when she begins her full-time permanent position.

Maurisio will graduate this spring with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology, a minor in sociology and an e-sports certificate.
